Who are the Million+?
Everyday South Africans who know they should be recycling, in fact, they want to recycle. The problem? Most families get caught up in the daily comings and goings of life and the thought of recycling at the end of the day is not front and centre. The goal of M+ is to educate them on how important – and how easy – it is!
Education & Awareness
It started as a revolution - now it’s child’s play.
When it first started, Million+ Recyclers took the shape of revolution marketing in an effort to rally the recycling troops of the country to join in and resist the urge to sit on the couch and do nothing.
After some initial success, the revolution had run its course and it was time to bring some new energy into the Million+ movement – and who has more energy than the kids of South Africa. So we got a young crew of 3 unique kids to make a plea to their parents and the rest fo the adults out there: Return the Favour. Recycle your Plastics.
This iteration saw great success and landed well in the hearts and actions of the SA public, as seen through engagement with the content.
It went so well in fact, that we brought those same kids back a year later to speak to the adults of SA about recycling and how easy it can be – especially when you do it where you spend so much of your time… Take the work out of recycling. Take the recycling out at work!
If the goal of a Million+ Recyclers was to get over a million people in South Africa giving recycling a second thought, then we have definitely done that. We might even need to think about changing the name…

Education & Awareness
Polyco’s Million Plus in collaboration with PnP School Club reaches over two million learners and their families each year with our educational resources and support. Workbooks, posters, certificates and other learner/ teacher support materials are provided to schools for free through this programme.
